Located in Blowing Rock, NC, these homes were constructed in the 70's as a vacation rental community. Development ended after seven were built, and henceforth known as the Roaring River Chalets, these classic A-Frames sit along the Middle Fork of the New River. Converted to a Planned Urban Development in 2011, units have been renovated and each sold to private owners. We purchased our end unit in February, 2012 as a second home - fulfilling a longtime dream for a mountain retreat.

I really like your little place. It is so inviting and such a great place to spend time and make memories. Please keep posting interior pics of your adorable Aframe. I am having a home inspection done this week on an Aframe I fell in love with in NC. If all goes well I will soon be an Aframe owner also. They do present decorating challenges, so it is nice to see how others fix up their Aframe homes. Looking forward to more posts.
Hey guys. Great cabin! My partner and I have built a lookout tower, like those fire lookouts the USFS built, in southern Oregon on acreage we have. Awesome views. Preparing to do a sabbatical there in the Spring.
Love this Aframe. Looks so peaceful and great for views. My friend and have redone an Aframe also. (not on a River though). What a efficient layout!
